Clinical Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy
Dr Louise Batchelor has completed further training in Clinical Hypnosis. Clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be used to alter thoughts, feelings or behaviours that you may like to change or improve.
Hypnosis is commonly is used to improve treatments in:
- Weight loss
- Smoking cessation
- and pain management
Appointments are approximately 45 minutes duration and are privately billed. When preparing for your appointment, it is best to wear loose comfortable clothing. For optimal results, it is important to bring a recording device (eg a smart phone) so the session can be recorded and you can listen to it daily at home. Goals will be discussed, and a full explanation will be given within the session.
A follow up session is scheduled one week later to fine tune hypnotic suggestions, to maintain the changes made, and add to them as needed. Further sessions are often helpful depending on the condition being treated.
When making an appointment, please notify reception that the appointment required is for Clinical Hypnosis. This is so appointments will be made for the appropriate duration, and at a quieter time of day.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the method of using the state of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of concentration, very similar to a daydream. When the hypnotic state is reached, suggestions are given to make improvements to thinking and behaviour, or to remove negative ideas, or to bring about positive changes in a calm relaxing way.
